Marion Manufacturing is a privately held company that offers high quality machining and manufacturing components. Founded in Terre Haute, Indiana, our management team has over 25 years experience in the machining and manufacturing field. Marion Manufacturing is committed to delivering the highest quality components at the lowest possible cost. We ensure that we set proper procedures and processes in place so we can make that possible.
HISTORY
1996
Marion Tool & Die, Inc., was founded in August 1996 in a 22x22 garage on the family farm. The small Tool & Die Shop was led by Toolmaker Tim Marion and his family, Tammy, Leonard, Babe and Carole Marion.
2000
After outgrowing their small shop on the farm, the Marion Family moved to a larger facility in Terre Haute, IN. and began growing into production manufacturing by stamping out 9x13 cake pans on small hydraulic presses formed on a die built by Tim Marion.
2003
Marion received their ISO9000 Certification and moved to a 5-1/2 acre, 15,000 square foot facility in their hometown of West Terre Haute, IN, which is where the company is still headquartered today.
2007 - 2009
The Company launched Six Sigma throughout their facility and added an additional 25,000 square feet of manufacturing space as well as a 1500 square foot office facility. For the Aerospace industry, Marion became AS9000 certified.
2015
After years of expansion and growth, Marion Manufacturing merged with Morton Machining located in Morton, IL., employing approximately 80 people.
2022
The Marion family entered into a new partnership with Luke Terry to continue to grow and build the business.
Marion Today
Marion employs over 150 people between both locations and is an industry leader in high precision CNC machining operations for the Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Defense and Aerospace Industries.
Tamara “Tammy” Marion serves as President and co-owner of Marion Manufacturing.
Marion Manufacturing was started by Babe, Carole, Tim, Leonard, and Tammy Marion in 1996 in a 22’ x 22’ garage. Marion Manufacturing is a high-precision CNC machining operation, providing components to the Heavy Equipment, Energy, Agriculture, Department of Defense, and Aerospace Industries.
Tammy Marion began her career at Marion Manufacturing as the company’s General Manager in 2001. In 2007, Tammy became the company’s Six Sigma Deployment Champion-successfully deploying Six Sigma practices throughout the company. Tammy acquired 34% of the company and assumed the role of President in 2008. Tammy has led the company through both ISO 9000 Certification, as well as AS9100 Aerospace Certification. During her time at Marion Manufacturing, Tammy has led her team to successfully increasing sales from $150,000 annually to nearly $25 million.
Tammy is originally from Spencer, Indiana. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Indiana State University and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College. Tammy is a member of the American Society for Quality, National Association of Professional Women, and has served on the Indiana Advanced Aerospace Manufacturing Alliance. She is active in the community as a 4-H Leader, Member of Indiana Farm Bureau, as well as Parliamentarian Coach for the Local FFA Chapter.
